Firm Profile

Leo J. Blackman Architects is a small, design oriented, full-service architecture firm, established in 2001 and located in the neighborhood north of Madison Square. We typically work for institutional clients with landmark properties.

Leo J. Blackman Architects designs with a unique sensitivity to context as a generator of architectural form, and a careful understanding of neighborhood environment, client culture, and historical style. Our diverse portfolio of projects ranges from rural campus master plans to a 24,000 sf urban school addition, from private country residences to Manhattan high-rise apartment renovations, with much in between. We also have experience with religious facilities and not-for-profit office space, with new construction and historic restoration.

Leo J. Blackman Architects brings both the creativity and focus on detail necessary to successfully lead a design from conception to completion. Our small firm size allows the personal attention and flexibility often-times missing in architectural offices. Our cohesive chemistry encourages an open exchange of ideas and smooth collaboration with clients, consultants, and trades.
